Severe Weather Alert for Laclede County – Monday, May 19
Randy Rowe from the Laclede County Office of Emergency Management has issued a serious warning regarding today’s weather conditions. The National Weather Service has placed our area under a moderate risk (Level 4 of 5) for severe storms this afternoon and evening.
Timing
• Rain expected to begin between 2:30–3:00 PM
• Severe storms likely between 6:00–7:00 PM
Primary Threats
• Straight-line winds up to 80 mph
• Large hail
• Tornadoes (low probability, but possible)
The National Weather Service has expressed heightened concern, urging residents to be prepared to seek shelter promptly.
Tornado Siren Protocol
Siren activation will occur if:
• Winds exceed 75 mph
• A tornado warning is issued
• A certified spotter reports a funnel cloud or tornado touchdown
Public FEMA-Rated Storm Shelters
Available to the public during:
• Weekdays: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Weekends: All day

• Boswell Elementary (open during school hours)
