I Thought Civic Clubs Were Outdated. Why Do So Many People Keep Coming Back to These Meetings?

When I moved to the area, I kept hearing the same names come up in conversations. Lions. Kiwanis. Optimists. Rotary. Civic clubs that had been part of the community for generations. I wanted to know what they actually did, and more importantly, why people chose to give their time to them. So I sat down with the presidents of four local civic clubs and asked them the same questions. What I heard wasn’t about meetings or titles. It was about people, purpose, and showing up.
