Hughes Senior Center Weekly Update
April 27 through May 1
The Hughes Senior Center, located at 460 West Fifth Street in Lebanon, continues to stay busy with a full week of meals, activities, and events for the community. Thanks to the continued support of sponsors Garner Smith Insurance, Phoenix Home Care and Hospice, and this week’s meal sponsor Edward Jones and Cheryl Colson, the center is able to provide daily meals and engaging programming.

Monday, April 27
Monday’s menu includes hamburgers and hot dogs, with chili available as well, along with potato chips, baked beans, and fruit.
Activities begin with quilting at 9:00 a.m., followed by Family Feud at 12:00 p.m.
Tuesday, April 28
Lunch on Tuesday features pork loin, mashed potatoes with gravy, peas, a roll, and fruit.
The day starts with a board meeting at 8:30 a.m., followed by Mahjong at 9:00 a.m. and bingo at 12:00 p.m.
Wednesday, April 29
Wednesday’s meal is meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, country blend vegetables, a roll, and fruit.
Bible study is canceled this week. Instead, guests can enjoy popcorn and a movie at 12:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 30
Thursday’s menu includes a chicken sandwich, potato salad, sliced tomatoes, buttered corn, and fruit.
Activities include Mahjong at 9:00 a.m., a gospel sing at 9:45 a.m., and bingo at 12:00 p.m.
Friday, May 1
Friday marks a special Mother’s Day lunch celebration. The menu includes baked ziti, garlic bread, Italian vegetables, garden salad, strawberry cheesecake, and fruit.
Activities for the day include Samba (card game) at 9:00 a.m., a music jam at 11:45 a.m., and a Friday night dance at 7:00 p.m. featuring Johnny Mason and his band. Admission for the dance is $5, or $3 for children 12 and under.
Additional Information
Lunch is served daily from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A suggested contribution is $5 for those 60 and over, $7 for those under 60, and $3 for children 12 and under. Ice cream, salad, soup, and beverages are available daily.
Looking ahead, several events are planned for May. Aging Best will be on-site May 21 to assist with farmers market vouchers. A Peace of Mind seminar will be held May 12, and an indoor yard sale and bake sale is scheduled for May 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
