This week on Pet of the Week with Claws and Paws, the spotlight is on Askim, a lovable 4-year-old cattle dog mix who’s more than ready for his second chance at the perfect forever home.

Askim was previously adopted and deeply loved by his family, but after a major career change required his owner to spend long stretches on the road, they made the difficult decision to return him so he could find a home better suited to his needs. Since then, he’s been waiting patiently at Claws and Paws for the right person to come along.
While Askim may be on the smaller side, he definitely has a big personality. He takes his job as home protector seriously and has a little “big dog syndrome,” always wanting to keep an eye on his people and make sure everyone is safe. Once he gets to know you, he is incredibly affectionate, loves attention, and quickly forms strong bonds. Volunteers say he is one of their absolute favorites thanks to his sweet personality, playful side, and love of curling up like a lap dog.
We have an application for everyone who is wanting to adopt to fill out.
All adoptions includes current Parvo and Distemper Vaccine, wormer and rabies. Spay or Neuter Certificate ( if not already altered ) Several Vets honor our certificate although if they don't upon mailing proof of altering and receipt of paying out of pocket you will be reimbursed if not excepted.
Dogs are $175 and up, of this fee you will receive a $32 voucher towards the spaying or neutering if not already done.
Cats are $65 and up of this fee you will receive a $22 voucher towards the spaying or neutering if not already done.
Animal Shelter. Open Monday-Friday 12:00pm-4:00pm and Saturday 12:00pm-3:30pm.
