There was plenty to celebrate this past week. The quilt raffle brought in $258, with Pam Odom taking home the beautiful handmade quilt. The candy jar contest had 1,080 pieces inside, and two people, Keith Eckelmeyer and Vicky Long, came incredibly close with guesses of 1,050, earning them both prizes. Vicky Long also took home another win for best St. Patrick’s Day outfit, along with John, who showed up decked out in flashing green gear. The Angel Awards ended in a tie as well, with Carl Cummings and Frida Jennings both being recognized for everything they do around the center.
The birthday dinner was another highlight, with Monte Luke entertaining the crowd and even a surprise music moment from Sarah that had everyone talking. The Missouri Veterans Medallion Program also returned, helping local veterans and their families receive the recognition they deserve. This Wednesday will be the final opportunity this month to take part in that program.
Looking ahead, the week is full of activities, great meals, and plenty of reasons to stop by.

The Hughes Senior Center is always looking for volunteers, whether it’s helping with activities, working in the kitchen, assisting at the front desk, or lending a hand in the gift shop. Even an hour here and there can make a big difference.
Programs at the center are made possible thanks to the support of Garner and Smith Insurance and Phoenix Home Care and Hospice, along with Lebanon Now.
If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a good meal, stay active, and connect with others, the Hughes Senior Center has something happening every single day.
