Benji is this week’s Pet of the Week from Claws and Paws, and he might just be one of the sweetest boys we’ve had in the studio!
Benji is about four years old and is a Lab and Shepherd mix. He originally came to Claws and Paws from animal control and was adopted, but after getting loose and not being able to reconnect with his previous owners, he’s now back at the shelter looking for a fresh start. And honestly, he deserves it.

He’s calm. He’s gentle. He knows how to sit and lay down. He’s very treat motivated, which makes training easy, and he listens well. Kelly shared that he recently did great with a young child who was visiting the shelter — patient, kind, and careful. He gets along with other dogs, doesn’t mind cats, and would likely fit into just about any loving home.
Benji would do great on a farm or in a home with a big backyard where he can stretch his legs. He enjoys playing in his water bucket, so there’s a good chance he’d love trips to the river or even a kiddie pool in the summer. He has some energy, but he’s also well behaved and could be a good fit for an older couple who just wants a steady companion and a walking buddy.
He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home.

All adoptions includes current Parvo and Distemper Vaccine, wormer and rabies. Spay or Neuter Certificate ( if not already altered ) Several Vets honor our certificate although if they don't upon mailing proof of altering and receipt of paying out of pocket you will be reimbursed if not excepted.
Dogs are $175 and up, of this fee you will receive a $32 voucher towards the spaying or neutering if not already done.
Cats are $65 and up of this fee you will receive a $22 voucher towards the spaying or neutering if not already done.
