This week on Pet of the Week with Claws and Paws, we met Ranger, a very handsome shepherd mix who is ready for the right home.

Ranger is about a year and a half old and has been with Claws and Paws for close to a year. While his background is mostly unknown, what staff does know is that he is a very good boy. He is smart, attentive, and eager to learn. Ranger can be a little shy at first and has some “stranger danger,” but once he gets to know you, he relaxes and shows his sweet personality.

He does well with other dogs, does not bother cats or small animals, and is currently going home at night with a shelter staff member for training. Because of that, Ranger is house-trained, knows basic commands like sit and stay, and is continuing to learn more. He is just past the puppy phase but still young, playful, and full of energy.

If you would like to meet Ranger, you can visit Claws and Paws during adoption hours from noon to 4:30 on weekdays and noon to 4 on Saturdays. Applications are available online and at the shelter and usually take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Renters will just need landlord approval.

This episode of Pet of the Week was sponsored by Kim Breeden with Shelter Insurance. Claws and Paws is also always looking for volunteers, whether it’s walking dogs, playing with kittens, or helping around the shelter.

Ranger is waiting, and he would love to meet you.
