Meet Toby and Tanner, a bonded pair around 9 and 10 years old who have been together for most of their lives. These two are true companions and need to be adopted as a pair. They are gentle, affectionate, and full of personality. They do well with cats and most other dogs, though they are not shy about setting boundaries with larger dogs that get too close. At home, they are calm and well mannered, happily lounging most of the day and enjoying plenty of lap time.
Kelly shared that Toby and Tanner came to Claws and Paws after their owners faced serious health issues and entered nursing care, a situation that sadly happens often with senior pets. Despite that, the boys are healthy and thriving, and the shelter would love to see them spend the holidays in a warm, loving home together.
Claws and Paws is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Adoption applications take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Landlord approval is required for renters, and families with other dogs are encouraged to bring them along for a meet-and-greet.
Even if adoption is not an option right now, the shelter always welcomes volunteers and community support.
This Pet of the Week segment was made possible thanks to the support of Shelter Insurance agent Kim Breeden, whose sponsorship helps keep these stories going. Toby and Tanner are hoping this Christmas season brings them what they want most, a home together.
*This special holiday episode was prerecorded. Since the recording both Toby and Tanner have been adopted.*
