Lebanon Now joined the Lebanon Rotary at The Wallace Building today for the weekly meeting, where Veterans Day and service to others took center stage.
Rotarian of the Week was Adam Fries. Adam has been a member for three years after being invited by his wife, Melinda Fries. He shared that Rotary has restored his faith in humanity. To him, Rotarians put others’ needs before their own and are always willing to do what it takes to make the community better. Through his actions and his words, Adam hopes to give people hope by showing that others truly care.
Adam also served as the guest speaker for the Veterans Program. His presentation was powerful and heartfelt, weaving together stories from basic training, moments of heartache, and threads of hope. He reminded everyone that Veterans Day is observed each year on November 11 to honor all who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
The program continued with remarks from fellow veterans Jamie Folsom, Sam Allen, Bob Scoby, Bob Fields, and Hugh Cory. Each shared personal experiences and the unique challenges that come with military service. Their honesty and perspective grounded the room and reminded us why this observance matters.
Today’s meeting was a simple but meaningful tribute. It honored the men and women who stood up to serve and lifted up the values Rotary strives to live out all year long. To our veterans, thank you. Your courage, sacrifice, and continued leadership in our community do not go unnoticed.
The Rotary Club continues to be a place where service, leadership, and community spirit come together. If you are inspired to be part of something greater, opportunities to join are always open. To learn more about becoming a Rotarian, contact Jase Glendenning, Melinda Fries, or any Rotarian.
