At this week’s Rotary Club meeting at The Wallace Building, Lebanon Now was on site to share the stories of service and community that make Rotary such a valued part of Lebanon.
The meeting began with the recognition of Rotarian of the Week, Taylor Howe. Rotary has long been a part of the Howe family’s legacy, and Taylor has carried that tradition forward since joining the Laclede County Rotary in 2016. He spoke about the importance of getting involved, encouraging others to join Rotary and be active in building a stronger community.
Rotary President Jace then introduced guest speaker, Chaplain Timothy Howe, who brought an inspiring message about The Cross Christian School (TCCS). The school serves more than 229 students in grades K–12, supported by over 37 dedicated staff members. As an A+ Scholarship Partner School, TCCS is guided by its mission of “Education for Transformation,” working to equip students not only with academic knowledge but with values that shape lives.
One of the school’s most impactful commitments is ensuring education remains affordable and accessible for local families. Thanks to the generosity and support of the community, TCCS has been able to keep tuition lower than public school rates—removing barriers and opening doors for more students to thrive.
Rotary Club meetings are held every Thursday at noon at The Wallace Building, with the Satellite Club meeting the first and third Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Those interested in attending can connect with a Rotarian or contact Melinda Fries at mfries@lafcares.org.
