The Hughes Senior Center is the place to be this week, and visitors are more than welcome. Stop by 460 W. Fifth Street to meet friends, try something new, and enjoy a full slate of activities and hot lunches.
Monday kicks off with the Quilting Club at 9 a.m., then the debut of our new game, Family Feud, hosted by a local celebrity. Bring a team or join one when you arrive.
Lunch is a crowd favorite brunch with scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, and fruit, served from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m
Tuesday, the center will be closed in observance of Veterans Day. Veterans can enter a drawing at lunchtime for two beautiful quilts donated by Teresa Jordison.
Wednesday features exercise at 10 a.m., Bible study at 10:30 a.m., and Cornhole at 12.
Lunch is barbecue pork with au gratin potatoes, peas, a roll, and fruit.
Thursday brings MahJong at 9 a.m., gospel singing at 9:45 a.m., and Bingo at 12.
Lunch is spaghetti with a garlic breadstick, broccoli, tossed salad, and fruit. The salad bar and ice cream machine are available every day.
Friday starts with Samba at 9 a.m. and Music Jam at 11:45 a.m., then the Friday Night Dance at 7 p.m. with Charmin on stage. Bring your dancing shoes and five dollars for the cover.
Lunch is turkey & cheese sandwiches, lettuce/ tomato, Vegetable Soup, and fruit
Whether you are a regular or visiting for the first time, this is your invitation to jump in. Come play the new games, share a meal, or volunteer for an hour. We cannot wait to welcome you.
