Hughes News Update: What’s Happening at the Hughes Senior Center This Week

The Hughes Senior Center has a full week of food, fun, music, and activities planned. Here’s a day-by-day look at what’s coming up.

Monday, February 9
Lunch: Baked spaghetti with meat sauce, breadstick, garden salad, tropical fruit.
Activities: Quilting Club at 9:00 AM.  Olympics continue with the second game, Hydro Catch at 12pm.

Tuesday, February 10
Lunch (Brunch Tuesday): Scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon roll, and fruit.
Activities: Mahjong at 9:00 AM. Bingo at 12:00 PM.



Wednesday, February 11
Lunch: Ham and beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, spinach, and fruit.
Activities: Exercise class at 10:00 AM. Bible study at 10:30 AM. Live music from the Boomer Brothers from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM during lunch.

Thursday, February 12
Lunch: Roast beef with gravy, roasted red potatoes, green beans, roll, and fruit.
Activities: Mahjong at 9:00 AM. Gospel sing at 9:45 AM. Bingo at 12:00 PM.



Friday, February 13
Lunch (Valentine’s Day): Lasagna, breadstick, Italian vegetables, salad, strawberry shortcake, and fruit. Salad bar and ice cream available daily, with sundaes on Friday.
Activities: Samba card game at 9:00 AM. Music jam session at 11:45 AM, including the announcement of the Valentine’s King and Queen. Friday night dance with The Travelers.

Saturday, February 14
Valentine’s Dance at 7:00 PM featuring Johnny Mace.

Lunch is served daily from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. A $5 donation is suggested for those 50 and older, and $7 for those under 50.

The Hughes Senior Center also welcomes volunteers. Even an hour a week can make a big difference.
