Conway Elementary Students Relocated After Gas Shutoff Incident

Posted on 08/20/2025

Conway Elementary students were moved to the high school this morning after a delivery vehicle struck an air conditioning unit behind the building, forcing the gas to be shut off.

According to Superintendent Dr. Matthew Searson, all students, faculty, and staff are safe and are currently in the high school gym and cafeteria with their teachers.

The district is monitoring the situation and says a possible early dismissal may be announced if the unit and gas service cannot be restored.
